Stormy Daniels lawyer Michael Avenatti had a great day yesterday, while president Donald Trump had one of his worst. After a week of backlash on both sides of the political table over his horrific submission to Russian president Vladimir Putin, Trump’s awful week was topped off with breaking news about an incriminating conversation that his own former longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, had secretly recorded regarding hush money payments to women Trump slept with.
This morning, Trump was absolutely freaking out and buckling under the pressure. As usual, he took to his Twitter account to vent his feelings about being betrayed by his old personal lawyer and the very real possibility that Cohen is going to flip for Mueller and expose the president. Of course, Trump attacked the government and Cohen as he whined:
Inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer’s office (early in the morning) – almost unheard of. Even more inconceivable that a lawyer would tape a client – totally unheard of & perhaps illegal. The good news is that your favorite President did nothing wrong!”

The last bit about your “favorite President” doing “nothing wrong” is particularly laughable. Especially considering Trump’s initial reaction to learning about Cohen’s taped conversation with him. Apparently, when Trump found out about Cohen’s secret tape, the president fumed, “I can’t believe Michael would do this to me.” Does that sound like the reaction of an innocent man?! Trump knows he’s toast now, as the pressure is building and Mueller closes in. The days of Trump getting away with his corrupt behavior are over.
