Donald Trump is downright refusing to back down on his hateful, racism-fueled attacks against four different Congresswomen of color that he ignited over this past weekend with a series of tweets telling them to “go back where they came from.” Since those tweets, that are still causing massive uproar and outrage, Donald has just repeatedly doubled down — delivering a hate-filled speech at his recent “Made in America” event, complete with yet another attack against House Speaker Pelosi, reiterating his childish “just leave” remarks during a press gaggle outside the White House, and igniting horrific chants of “send her back” from his base during his reelection rally in Greenville, North Carolina.
And so far he’s showing absolutely no signs of slowing down with what we can only assume is now his 2020 campaign strategy.
Trump addressed his attack against the four Congresswomen, aptly deemed the “Squad,” with reporters again today stating, “I don’t know if it’s good or bad politically. I don’t care.”
“Many people say it’s good. I don’t know if it’s good or bad,” Trump went on. “I can tell you this: You can’t talk that way about our country. Not when I’m the president.” Did anyone else just get a massive feeling of dictatorship wash over them when reading that? Or was that just me?
Later in the press gaggle, Trump was questioned as to how his wife Melania, an immigrant from Slovenia herself, feels about the current situation and whether or not she should be “sent back.”
“The first lady feels very strongly about our country,” Donald responded. “The first lady thinks it’s horrible what they said about Israel and horrible what they said about our country, these congresswomen. They cannot call our country and our people garbage. They can’t be anti-Semitic. They can’t talk about evil Jews, which is what they say, evil Jews. That’s what the first lady thinks.”
Oh yes. We forgot. We’re only supposed to hate brown immigrants.
