Now that the president is being forced to address the dangerous conditions of Hurricane Florence, it’s brought up a lot of past issues where the president’s responses to natural disasters or other threats were less than adequate. Recently, Trump got bashed for his ignorance and lack of response to Hurricane Maria, which ravaged Puerto Rico. Of course, the president is now denying that almost 3,000 people died as a result of that hurricane, and has called the response and aftermath a “success” — even though he basically turned the other way when Puerto Rico was begging for assistance.
That’s why people are so annoyed that Trump is tweeting his a** off about Hurricane Florence, and pretending that he actually cares. However, even as he tries to spread information about the hurricane, his delivery is extremely flawed. Earlier today, Trump retweeted a message from FEMA about the hurricane, in which the agency cautioned people against spreading misinformation. You can only imagine how ironic it is that Trump would retweet this:
We have created a rumor control page for Hurricane #Florence that will be updated regularly. During disasters, it’s critical to avoid spreading false information. Always check with official sources before sharing.”

Yes — the president, who is the biggest generator of fake news in this country, is actually telling Americans to check a website to make sure they don’t spread rumors. It does not get more ironic than this, and Americans tore him apart for it. Just look at these furious responses:
Where is the rumor control page for @realDonaldTrump’s Twitter feed? During this disaster of the Trump administration, it is critical to avoid spreading false information.

Then why has the White House been spreading rumors that your response to Puerto Rico was the “best ever”? Care to debunk that so people can really prepare (apparently, for death).

Rumor Control Page created by an administration proven to spread rumors? Hilarious in a historicaly sad way. Just had a quick look… why money was spent on this obvious propaganda piece is pathetic

Will it block nonsense from @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @FoxNews

“It’s critical to avoid spreading false information.” You mean like 3000 Puerto Ricans didn’t die? #Trump #PuertoRico #HurricaneMaria

Any chance you can do anything about the liar squatting in our WH and spreading rumors about the failed relief efforts in Puerto Rico?

Even when Trump “tries” to be “helpful”, he’s still an imbecile. Trump needs to accept that his presidency is beyond saving, and that he should just stop trying.
