Trump Embarrasses His Secretary Of State, Makes Critical White House Move Without Telling Pompeo

The president does this all the time! Does Trump even know he has a team?

This won’t come as a shock to anyone at this point in Donald Trump’s presidency, but there is a massive issue in communication when it comes to how his administration is performing. Then again, it’s not like any other areas of the White House are any better off.

An embarrassing breakdown in communication just happened at the expense of Trump’s Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, who was totally left in the dark about the president’s decision to impose sanctions on Turkey.

Proving that Trump truly wishes to operate like a dictator and make decisions without consulting his team, Trump tweeted on Thursday about how the U.S. would “impose large sanctions on Turkey” for the detention of American pastor Andrew Brunson, who has been imprisoned by Turkey over espionage and terrorism charges for a year and a half.

Despite being involved in behind-the-scenes talks to get Brunson back to America, Pompeo knew nothing about Trump’s decision. To make a bad situation worse, this seems to be a trend between Trump and Pompeo — the Secretary of State was also completely clueless about Trump’s recent invitation to Vladimir Putin to visit Washington, D.C. for a second meeting.

If you think Pompeo is being singled out, think again. Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats was also left out of the decision to invite Putin — and he had to find out through White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ Twitter account! In fact, there have been multiple occasions in which Trump’s team was the last to know about something because they weren’t checking the president’s Twitter account often enough.

With a White House that can’t even manage to speak to each other on major decisions and issues, is it any wonder that our country is such a hot mess right now?
