Thanks to Donald Trump, America is becoming unrecognizable. The former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, had recently remarked that what is currently happening in the U.S. was NOT what America used to represent. And the more we see what Trump is doing to this country, we can’t help but agree.
Trump and his administration denied that there was a family separation policy at the U.S.-Mexico border for months. And now, Trump has changed his tune and doubling down on separating families in one of his most heartless tweets yet.
During a time when the president is under fire for the death of a 7-year-old girl who died in the custody of Border Patrol, one would think that Trump would try to make more sensitive statements and tread lightly. Unfortunately, the president is too stupid to avoid creating his own PR nightmare. In an extremely inhumane, misspelled tweet, the president tweeted several false statements, starting with this:
The Democrats policy of Child Seperation (sic) on the Border during the Obama Administration was far worse than the way we handle it now. Remember the 2014 picture of children in cages – the Obama years.”
This has been fact-checked before, and it’s been documented that the Obama administration didn’t have a “zero tolerance” policy like Trump is suggesting. Children also weren’t separated from their parents.
But Trump’s tweet got worse as the president doubled down on splitting families apart. He said, “if you don’t separate, FAR more people will come. Smugglers use the kids!”

This, of course, would also be a lie. Even with this policy in place, border apprehensions have never been higher than under Trump’s presidency. Trump is really showing his true colors with this tweet, and everyone should be disgusted.
