President Donald Trump can’t seem to come off of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Late last week, Trump took to Twitter to post an edited video of Omar’s remarks about the 9/11 attack that she made to the Council on American-Islamic Relations with graphic images and videos of the attack distributed throughout, captioning the video with “We will never forget.”
Members of the GOP quickly slammed her and Omar rapidly became the victim of thousands of death threats — so much that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called for added protection for the congresswoman.
President Trump is certainly not ignorant of the threats of violence and death that his cold-hearted tweet has incited, he just doesn’t give a f*ck. Donald set his sights on Omar again Monday when he was questioned about the ramifications of his tweet in an interview while he was in Minnesota.
The interviewer pointed out to POTUS that Omar is now receiving death threats due to his tweet and asked, “Any second thoughts about that tweet and the way it was produced and put together?”
Trump wasted no time in making it clear that he has no regrets when it comes to endangering Omar’s life and quickly took the opportunity to further bash and bully the congresswoman.
“No, not at all,” he replied. “Look, she’s been very disrespectful to this country. She’s been very disrespectful, frankly, to Israel. She is somebody that doesn’t really understand life, real life. What it’s all about.”
“She’s got a way about her that’s very, very bad for our country,” he added.

Omar has been the subject of harsh bullying from the GOP and even her own party, but as a top critic of the Israeli government, she has vowed that the criticism will not deter her.
“I did not run for Congress to be silent. I did not run for Congress to sit on the sidelines. I ran because I believed it was time to restore moral clarity and courage to Congress. To fight and to defend our democracy,” Omar tweeted earlier this month. “No one person — no matter how corrupt, inept, or vicious — can threaten my unwavering love for America. I stand undeterred to continue fighting for equal opportunity in our pursuit of happiness for all Americans.”
Democrats have called for Trump to remove the video amid threats on Omar’s life, but it doesn’t look as though that will happen any time soon. If you ask us, it seems that Trump is grasping at every straw he can to try to distract the nation from the impending release of the Mueller report — even at the cost of someone’s safety.
