Last night, as the Democratic debates carried on, Trump delivered a speech at the House Republican Conference Member Retreat in Baltimore — presumably after he’d made his way around the gigantic Trump rat balloon.
And it seems that in the course of that speech, Trump decided to try his hand at killing two birds with one stone — giving the gathered crowd a good excuse for rolling back the Obama-era requirement for energy-efficient light bulbs while simultaneously admitting to and giving a hilarious excuse for his unnaturally orange skin tone.
“People said what’s with the light bulb?” Trump proclaimed. “I said here’s the story, and I looked at it: The bulb that we’re being forced to use — No. 1, to me, most importantly, the light’s no good. I always look orange.” — effectively admitting to his carrot-colored appearance but taking the same approach to it as he does everything else in his life, blaming the Democrats.
Donald’s joke roused a round of laughter from the gathered audience before he made the claim that he’s not the only one with an apricot hue — evidently, the rest of the audience was taking on the orange glow thanks to the lightbulbs, as well.
“The light is the worst,” Trump continued at the retreat dinner, going on to add that “it’s many times more expensive than that old incandescent bulb that worked very well.”
“And the light is not as good,” he continued, explaining “we’re going to sell that, but we’re also going to sell incandescent bulbs.”
While the fact that this whole lightbulb debacle finally made Trump admit to his bizarre shade is certainly hilarious, it doesn’t negate the fact that environmental groups are issuing dire warnings to the country should Trump’s rollback of the regulations take place — including much higher utility bills for citizens as well as a serious uptick in electricity used by power plants that emit harmful greenhouse gases.
So, he’s back to destroying the Earth one rollback at a time all because he can’t seem to admit that he looks like that because of one too many spray tans.
