Ivanka better borrow a few of her dad's tricks if she wants to get out of this.

Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are under the microscope after Democrats reported that the pair has failed to maintain records of all official government emails and other electronic communications.

According to a letter from the chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), the committee was informed last year by Ivanka’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, that his client did not preserve emails or communications that she did not respond to.

According to the Associated Press, Cummings cited in his letter that Ivanka’s disregard of preserving official government emails and communications was a direct violation of the Presidential Records Act.

The report stated:

The letter says Lowell confirmed that Kushner, Ivanka Trump’s husband, and a senior White House aide, uses the WhatsApp to conduct official U.S. government business. According to the letter, Lowell said Kushner has used the application to have ‘communications with people outside the United States,’ though he did not provide the identities of those involved.”

Lowell would not tell the committee whether Kushner had ever used WhatsApp to discuss classified information. When asked, Lowell said, “That’s above my pay grade,” and referred questions to the White House and the National Security Council, according to Cummings’ letter.

Lowell said Kushner archives the messages he sends by taking screenshots of them and forwarding that record to his official White House email account or the National Security Council.”

Representatives for both Ivanka and Kushner, of course, declined to comment on the matter. But it’s pretty clear that they intend to be tight-lipped and instead try to ignore the problem, or even more likely, blame it on someone else. Who on earth could they get that tactic from?

Sounds like Ivanka and the hubby best be getting some tips from daddy Trump, because they’re going to need all the help they can get soon.
