Donald Trump is a major germaphobe — because of course he is, he can’t properly destroy our country if he’s down with the flu. You combine that with the fact that he can’t tolerate anyone else in the room getting even an ounce of his attention, well, you had better not cough in front of him. That’s all we’re saying.
Donald made that painfully obvious during his recent exclusive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in which his acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney coughed in the background and Trump pitched a few and threw him out of the room.
But according to a new report from Politico on Donald’s self-proclaimed germaphobia, even his most beloved lapdogs aren’t safe from his scorn should they relieve a throat tickle in his presence. Evidently, Trump’s counselor Kellyanne Conway has also found herself on the short end of the coughing stick.
In Politico’s report, they hilariously refer to Donald as the “Purell President” and described the time that Donald had a tantrum and proceeded to storm out of the room after then-campaign manager Kellyanne Conway coughed during a 2016 campaign meeting.
The news outlet went on to explain that Donald’s germ obsession runs so deep that he goes to painstaking efforts to avoid shaking hands and slathers himself in anti-bacterial hand sanitizer afterward if he couldn’t get out of it.
Their report continued:
After the 2016 campaign, Trump heard about a report that showed the Trump campaign had paid almost $94 million to Giles-Parscale, the company of its digital media director, Brad Parscale. Trump came down to the campaign headquarters on the 14th floor of Trump Tower to dress down Parscale, according to a campaign official familiar with the events.”
“Trump demanded Parscale tell him where his money went, why so much money went through his account and how much of it he was keeping for himself,” Politico reported, adding that David Bossie did attempt to defend Parscale from Trump’s unhinged attack.
Sources told Politico that the meeting came to an abrupt ending when “Kellyanne Conway, who had been campaign manager, made similar points but then she coughed — causing Trump to go ‘nuts’ and soon leave the area.”
