Donald Trump and his administration are now infamous for the constant gaslighting they repeatedly do to America. Earlier today, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told yet another massive lie, and now she’s currently being blasted for it.
While speaking to reporters on the White House lawn, Sanders actually stated that Trump never encouraged violence — even though there are multiple reporters and footage of Trump doing exactly that. Sanders said:
I certainly don’t think that the president, at any point, has done anything but condemn violence. In fact, every single time something like this happens, the president is typically one of the first people to condemn the violence.”
Everyone, of course, saw that this was complete bullsh*t.
After arrest of Coast Guard lieutenant, who allegedly amassed weapons and compiled list of Democratic lawmakers and journalists, Sarah Sanders says Pres. Trump hasn’t “at any point” done anything “but condemn violence, against journalists or anyone else.” https://t.co/vD1SnbtLMf pic.twitter.com/JO6LCpexIm

Let’s not forget that Trump has been cited at rallies for suggesting that protesters “should have been roughed up” and encouraged his supporters to “knock the crap out of” protesters (and even promised to pay for any legal fees that might come of it). In a more recent incident, Trump praised a GOP lawmaker for body slamming a reporter.
No one knows who Sanders thought she was fooling with these comments, but the internet is blasting her for it:
Yes @PressSec, every day I hear @realDonaldTrump saying that the press is the FRIEND OF THE PEOPLE!

umm.. sure he condemns it…. after he entices it EVERY DAMN SINGLE DAY!!

@PressSec is a pathological liar, a 45-sycophant, and a Worker of Iniquity. It’s painful to watch and listen to her deceptive deceiving propaganda, she has no sunken place.

Sanders likely thought she might be able to get away with this lie, considering she tried this fib 9 days ago in an interview with Fox & Friends and she received no backlash — which isn’t surprising, considering Fox’s reporters have a duty to be friendly to Trump and his minions.
