Reporters Are Shocked After Trump Goes On Rant About The “Scary time for young men;” Ignores Question About Women

He just gets more disgusting every day.

In a disgusting display of misogyny not unlike his son’s on Monday, Donald Trump spoke to reporters in a press spray on the White House lawn Tuesday morning and gave them a soundbite that has to be seen to be believed.

It serves only as a further testament to how tone-deaf Republicans are in the #MeToo era that the President of the United States would suddenly declare that there is grave danger for young men in America, that they might be falsely accused of crimes they didn’t commit.

He is referring, of course, to the ongoing drama over his nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, a man who stands accused of sexual assault by no fewer than six women at this point. Kavanaugh’s misdeeds would be worthy of a profile on a syndicated forensics show on cable television if only Republicans would take them seriously.

Instead, we see not just a Party that refuses to give up on their candidate, but Republican voters who say in a poll that they don’t actually care if Brett Kavanaugh raped six women when he was younger; an astounding — disgusting — fifty-four percent of them believe he should be confirmed even if he did.

Maybe it was with that in mind that Trump approached the cameras and microphones early Tuesday because what he said showed zero concern for women, and sounded horrifically just like what Donald Trump Junior said in a Daily Mail interview on Monday.

Well, I think it’s a very scary time for young men in America, when you can be, uh, guilty of something that you may not be guilty of.”

That kind of alarmist talk about rape allegations being false sound suspiciously like when he tries to blame all crime on immigrants, but the fact is, only about two percent of rape and sexual assault reporting is fabricated — the same as any other felony reports.

Most telling of all, however, was the fact that Trump’s answer came in response to a reporter shouting out, “What do you say to young men in America at this moment?” When Trump seemed to be finished with his false reporting answer, that same reporter shouted out, “And to young women?”

Nothing.

Trump continued talking about how bad it is for men:

This is a very difficult time. What’s happening here has much more to do than even the appointment of a Supreme Court justice. It really does. You can be somebody that was perfect your entire life, and somebody could accuse you of something … Somebody could accuse you and you’re automatically guilty. But in this realm, you are truly guilty until proven innocent. That’s one of the very, very bad things that’s taking place right now.”
