Earlier today, Donald Trump’s U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley embarrassed herself by defending the president. In an interview with Fox News, she actually tried to convince everyone that when the United Nations General Assembly erupted in laughter after Trump praised his administration’s accomplishments, everyone had been laughing out of “respect.” You’d think Trump’s people would have learned their lesson about praising Trump by now.
Haley should have known better — anytime Trump gets praise, whoever is doing the praising basically commits career suicide. For example, former Director of Strategic Communications Hope Hicks was publicly shamed after bragging about how great Trump’s character is — even though he continues to perform terribly in every approval rating poll. Just look at what she said about Trump’s “magnetic personality.”
President Trump has a magnetic personality and exudes positive energy, which is infectious to those around him. He has an unparalleled ability to communicate with people, whether he is speaking to a room of three or an arena of 30,000. He has built great relationships throughout his life and treats everyone with respect. He is brilliant with a great sense of humor … and an amazing ability to make people feel special and aspire to be more than even they thought possible.”
I’d like to say that Trump wrote that himself, but we all know there are way too many big words in there to have been Trump’s original work. Even though this statement was made over a year ago, it’s still hilarious — especially since Trump’s “character” has just continued to get more vile as his presidency drags on!
We have to wonder if Trump’s minions ever get tired of lying or destroying any self-respect they still have. Making statements like this about a psychopath is the best way to kill one’s career, so Trump’s administration members really aren’t helping themselves out.
