Fox News and President Donald Trump have an awful lot in common, and a good part of it is the fact that no one wants to be associated with their organizations anymore. Not only has The Donald destroyed his Trump brand, but his administration has suffered more resignations than we can keep track of, as people are humiliated to work for such an unhinged bigot. Something similar has been happening to Fox News since Trump’s presidency, as real journalists are disgusted that they have to pander to the president instead of report real news.
Just like Trump’s administration, Fox News is looking empty as its reporters go public with their plans to quit. One of the most epic examples of this phenomenon happened last year when host Jenna Lee announced her exit live on air and added in a nice Trump jab while she was at it. As Lee announced her exit from the conservative network, she suggested that Trump’s influence on the network had made it impossible for her to do any real journalism. She said:
After ten years I’ve decided it’s time for a change and I’ve chosen to leave Fox News,” she said. “So today is my last day. I love being a journalist. I believe it’s what I’m called to do. I have some really big ideas on how to better serve you in that particular arena and the time is now for that.”
Lee could barely contain her excitement as she celebrated packing up her office on Instagram:
Since Lee’s departure, Fox News has seen many more of its journalists follow her lead, citing the same frustrations and unwillingness to work for Trump’s favorite network.
