Things just keep getting worse for President Donald Trump and his corrupt team. Trump and his minions are drowning in investigations already, and yet there are still more coming thanks to their unethical behavior and complete lack of values or respect for rules.
A new investigation was announced by federal prosecutors earlier today. In a court filing, the prosecutors stated that Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, and several others are now targets in an ongoing federal grand jury investigation.
This announcement comes after the New York Times requested that a federal judge unseal search warrants and other documents related to the raids on Cohen’s property. The prosecutors denied the Times‘ request but revealed something else in the process. The prosecutors stated the reason they would not release the materials was that it could compromise “a grand jury investigation into Michael Cohen and others, which remains ongoing” and referenced “numerous third parties” involved. Prosecutors also warned this could “jeopardize the cooperation” of others involved, which could mean Trump’s son, Donnie Jr., and many others close to the president. The filing said:
The disclosure would almost certainly result in a very public guessing game in which the media and members of the public attempted to guess the identities of the uncharged parties described in the materials – particularly [sic] the campaign finance portions. This would leave those individuals in the unfair position of defending against speculation that they were or currently are under investigation.”
USA Today’s Brad Heath reported about this extensively on Twitter:

DOJ says that revealing the search warrants it used to gather information on Cohen would “interfere with this investigation and implicate significant privacy concerns for numerous uncharged third parties who are named” in them. pic.twitter.com/WqvXGlslWJ

How much more trouble can Trump and his team possibly get into?
