Lindsey Graham Stuns During Interview: Even With New Evidence About Kavanaugh, Mind Is Made Up

This shows the true priorities of the Republican Party — and it's absolutely disgusting.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has just shown everyone the true colors of the Republican Party with his latest statements about Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh. In an interview on 60 Minutes that will air later tonight, Graham stated that even if the FBI found evidence that Kavanaugh is guilty of sexually assaulting one or more women, he would still vote to confirm him.

Yes, you read that right. As Graham appeared with Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana in the interview, the two Senators were asked by host John Dickerson:

Could either of you change your mind depending on what the FBI report comes back with?”

Graham was pretty much burning a hole through Kennedy as the Louisiana Senator replied, “Of course.” Dickerson confirmed that Kennedy was saying he’d keep an open mind and the Senator responded:

Of course. I said going into the hearing, I’ve talked to Judge Kavanaugh. I called him after this happened, the allegations came out, [and I] said, ‘Did you do it?’ He was resolute, determined, unequivocal.”

Graham was an entirely different story, and everyone should keep this in mind when they vote in the midterm elections – that the GOP has turned into a party with more rape apologists than we can count. Graham said:

My mind’s made up about Brett Kavanaugh and it would take a dynamite accusation. Because, here’s the deal, Dr. Ford, I don’t know what happened but I know this, Brett denied it vigorously and everybody she named couldn’t verify it, it’s 36 years old. I don’t see anything new changing [my mind].”

How is being accused of sexually assaulting multiple women not a “dynamite accusation?!” Here’s the clip of Graham’s response, because it’s honestly hard to believe that those words could be said by anyone, much less a Senator.

Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised — after all, the GOP did put Trump into the White House despite the fact that the president has been accused of sexually assaulting numerous women and even had a child rape case against him. However, Graham’s comments seem to hit home and prove that the Republican Party is now way more concerned with surviving and having power than it is with justice and doing the right thing.
