Despite how often Donald Trump gets fact-checked (let’s face it, this happens multiple times per day), we somehow never get tired of seeing this moron being called out for his ridiculous lies.

Earlier today, Trump posted a strange tweet about Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, eluding that there may have been discussions between himself and Rouhani about meeting in the near future. Trump tweeted:

Despite requests, I have no plans to meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Maybe someday in the future. I am sure he is an absolutely lovely man!”

While many people were thrown off by this tweet, it was Rouhani who seemed to be the most shocked. That’s because according to the Iranian President, the Iranian government had never even requested a meeting with Trump in the first place.

In speaking with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Rouhani made a statement that suggests he may not be too fond of The Donald, as he stated “not this year, nor last year, we have never made such a request for a meeting with the President of the United States.” Rouhani said:

Of course, last year, from American officials we have received eight requests for a meeting, and I did not see that as being an appropriate meeting, as I do not see it being appropriate now. A meeting must take place at a time when that meeting can serve a purpose, can be beneficial, can serve the benefits of both countries.

But under the current conditions, when it comes to a meeting and dialogue, I do not see it as beneficial nor appropriate. But you should ask him who made such requests.”

Amanpour then decided to ask Rouhani if he thought Trump was a “lovely man” and how he might react if Trump treated him like North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, bringing up that fact that Trump first insulted Kim before praising him. Rouhani pretty much trashed Trump:

For me what is of importance is that the leaders of the two countries are seeking mutual interests and have a dialogue and take subsequent steps which ultimately can lead to the undoing of the knots that have existed and the difficulties that have existed in the relationships between the two countries in the last four decades. Anything else is just playing with words and will not get us to any solutions.”

You know it’s bad when a leader who is hell bent on terror and destruction actually looks down on your president. Unfortunately, we should be used to it by now.
