Americans are getting fed up with Donald Trump’s childish attacks and are no longer missing any opportunity to put him back in his place.
Last night, former Secretary of State John Kerry went on Bill Maher’s show to respond to the president’s recent attack on him. Yesterday, Trump had called Kerry out (on Twitter, of course) for meeting with Iranian officials after leaving office. Trump tweeted:
John Kerry had illegal meetings with the very hostile Iranian Regime, which can only serve to undercut our great work to the detriment of the American people. He told them to wait out the Trump Administration! Was he registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act? BAD!”

During the interview, Maher sarcastically asked Kerry what he’d done to deserve being attacked by the man baby in the White House. Maher asked, “What did you do, John Kerry, that was BAD?”
Kerry’s response was priceless, attacking Trump’s leadership and the way his entire presidency has gone. In one single sentence, Kerry pointed out exactly what was wrong with Trump. Kerry said:
I think I told the truth. He’s the first president that I know of who spends more time reading his Twitter ‘likes’ than his briefing books and the Constitution of the United States.”
The audience couldn’t hold back their applause, because Kerry was spot on. Kerry also defended his actions since leaving office, stating that there was “nothing unusual” about meeting with foreign officials after being out of office and that “everybody does it.” But Kerry wasn’t done with Trump. He hit back even harder at the president, aiming right where it would hurt the most. Kerry said:
The conversation he ought to be worrying about is Paul Manafort with Mueller. And soon you’ll be hearing him say ‘That’s the worst deal that has ever been made.’ But when you stop and think about it, it has gone from The Art of the Deal to The Art of the Squeal.”
And more truth bombs followed. Kerry attacked Trump’s lies, stating that for the dishonest president, “truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth,” are “three different things.” Kerry quipped:
I don’t want to get into a real riff on this, but I’ve got to tell ya… he really is the rare combination of an eight-year-old boy- he’s got the maturity of an eight-year-old boy with the insecurity of a teenage girl.”
