Ivanka Trump has been getting slammed throughout her father’s horrific presidency for being complicit and continuing to support him even when she does not agree with him.
Recently, she made an ignorant statement about how family separation was a “low point” for her, after it was her father who was responsible for the inhumane policies that separated thousands of children from their families. Celebrities have since come together to send Ivanka a message of their own in protest.
Comedian Amy Schumer, model Alexa Chung, filmmaker Paola Mendoza and several others are followed by Ivanka on Instagram, and let’s just say that the next time Ivanka is in for a surprise the next time she goes on her favorite social media platform. These people all posted a message for Trump’s daughter and senior advisor, blasting her for her father’s family border separation policy and her ignorant statement. The message said:
You said family separation was a “low point” for you. The low point is for the separated families. You spoke in past tense. This crisis is ongoing. As of now 572 children have not been reunited. A child has died after separation. Approximately 400 parents have been deported without their children. There have been multiple claims of sexual and physical abuse in detention. There have been psychotropic drugs administered to children in detention without parental consent. These abuses have occurred on your father’s watch and under the leadership of Secretary Nielsen. End these racist, inhumane and unconscionable abuses now! WE DEMAND YOU CALL FOR THE RESIGNATION OF SECRETARY NIELSEN!”
Mendoza co-founded this campaign, stating that if Ivanka didn’t do something about this, “her words are as false as her father’s.” Mendoza said:
The separation of families is a tragedy that Ivanka participated in and we will not stop shining the light of truth on her no matter how much she wants to hide from it.”
We could not agree more.
