Donald Trump’s presidency is a straight up disaster right now — and even Fox News, the ONLY network still willing to somewhat defend him — is no longer being polite about it.
Trump’s nonsense gets fact-checked on a daily basis, and we’ve seen tons of that over the last year. Now with 2018 coming to a close soon, Fox News saved the best for last and delivered the most brutal fact check we’ve seen all year. As we all know that Trump is pretty much glued to Fox News every day, the fact that he probably saw this makes it so much better.
Earlier today, Fox News decided to screw up Trump’s plans for trying to blame the Democrats for the government shutdown after his pathetic, racist border wall did not get funded. Fox News broadcasted that the president had previously stated that he would not blame the shutdown on the Democrats, and now that’s exactly what he’s doing. Defending the Democratic party from the president’s nonsense, Fox News’ White House correspondent John Roberts reported:
At the moment, looks like we are lurching toward a shutdown at midnight tonight.
The president is kind of flipping a 180 here and trying to blame the Democrats for the shutdown, should that happen. The president tweeting out earlier today ‘the Democrats now own the shutdown,’ to which Chuck Schumer was only too happy to remind the president about what he has said in the past. Listen here.”
The network then played an actual video of Trump saying he’d shut down the government over border security. Roberts was kind enough to quote Trump directly, for emphasis, and bring up his new stance:
I’m not going to blame you for it. Except this morning, he is now blaming the Democrats for it.”

We never thought we’d say this, but Fox News is slowly becoming more tolerable as the network joins the rest of us in reality.
