Former Acting Director Of ICE Destroys Trump’s Border Wall, Explains Why It’s Not Going To Work

This must be so embarrassing for Trump.

There have been so many people who have come out against Donald Trump’s disgusting, racist border wall that it’s impossible to keep count. With every person opposing the president’s wall (plus the fact that the majority of Americans are against it), Trump continues to grow more and more embarrassed and tries even harder to bully Democrats into caving on funding.

One of the latest people to attack Trump’s wall is John Sandweg, the former acting director of ICE during the Obama administration — someone who obviously has firsthand experience with immigration issues and knows far more about the situation at the southern border than Trump. In an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, Sandweg explained exactly why Trump’s wall wouldn’t work. He said:

You know, the funny thing, Andrea, the wall is not going to be effective for what the president is calling the crisis. What we’re facing today, we have a total lower number of people crossing that border unlawfully. The total is much lower than historically, 15 years ago. More importantly, the composition is changed. Fully, a third of the people are families. Parents with children or just the children themselves fleeing violence in Central America.”

Once again, an expert is blowing up Trump’s lies that the people coming across the border are terrorists. Sandweg continued:

All the people want to do is get their foot on American soil. They don’t need to infiltrate their way into the United States. They just need to get their foot on the soil to make an asylum claim. The problem with the wall is not there. It’s not going to prevent them from entering the United States. Especially the area where the president was yesterday, that’s The Rio Grande Valley. If you at that river, it snakes its way, that’s our border. It’s not like the wall is going to be on that border. It will be inland. If it could be built tomorrow — it can’t — it will prevent those Central Americans from getting their feet on American soil, which is what they want to do.

You can watch the interview below:

Someone needs to get into Trump’s head that having the U.S. spend $50-100 billion for something that won’t work is not a good idea. Unfortunately, Trump’s ego will not allow him to accept this.
