Today just continues to get worse for President Donald Trump. Not only was it publicly revealed that his former longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, recorded some very incriminating conversations with him, but Special Counsel Robert Mueller is practically breathing down Trump’s back now.

According to TMZ, Mueller is sending a major message to Roger Stone, Trump’s former campaign advisor. Mueller’s wake up call comes in the form of a subpoena of his former aide, Kristin Davis — a woman who is also known as the “Manhattan Madam” in connection to the Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal.

TMZ reports that Davis was working for Stone for about ten years and was also in communication with another person who’d been subpoenaed by Mueller in June, Andrew Miller. Currently, Davis is trying to negotiate the “scope of the subpoena with Mueller’s team.”

This does not look good for Trump’s Russia investigation, as all eyes are now on Stone. The interest in Stone is focused around the 12 Russian officials and their “Guccifer 2.0” persona.

This is hardly the first time Davis has been in hot water with the law. In 2014, she got two years behind bars for the distribution and possession of a controlled substance. She also spent four months on Rikers Island for the Spitzer scandal. Davis said of her nickname and the controversy that has followed her:

‘Manhattan Madam’ is the salacious title given to me by the tabloid press when I was arrested in the wake of the scandal that brought down Eliot Spitzer. Perhaps you caught one of the newspapers that wrote about it because the words ‘politician,’ ‘prostitute,’ and ‘madam’ in one sentence tend to elicit a lot of attention.

What most people don’t know about me is my background is finance. Now I am going to jail. For two years. I will lose most of my possessions and be homeless when I come out. And you know what I think? I think I got what I deserved.”

Trump has spent most of his presidency believing that he is completely above the law and untouchable. However, he’s clearly getting nervous as he sees his circle getting smaller and smaller.
