Donald Trump has added yet another corrupt individual to his administration, which won’t surprise anyone. On Friday evening, Trump announced his decision to nominate Kelly Knight Craft to be the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and Nikki Haley’s replacement. Craft is currently the U.S. ambassador to Canada — and a major Republican donor. In fact, Craft has donated two million dollars to Republican campaigns in the past AND a repeat high-paying customer at Trump’s hotel.
Craft is Trump’s second choice because his first — State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert — withdrew last week. As usual, no one wants to be caught dead supporting the president, but he makes sure to maximize the few who do. In an announcement on Twitter, the president praised Craft and said:
I am pleased to announce that Kelly Knight Craft, our current Ambassador to Canada, is being nominated to be United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Kelly has done an outstanding job representing our Nation and I have no doubt that, under her leadership, our Country will be represented at the highest level. Congratulations to Kelly and her entire family!”
People are up in arms about this, because the conflict of interest with Craft being a major GOP donor and a loyal Trump hotel customer is obvious.
Trump to nominate Kelly Knight Craft, the ambassador to Canada and a Republican mega-donor, to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

This is just one of many corrupt things to happen in Donald Trump’s administration, and it certainly won’t be the last. Trump has made sure to surround himself only with “yes” men and women who will help him line his pockets and further his bigoted agenda. Remember when Trump said he would sever ties from his businesses? That’s been proven, time and time again, to be a massive lie. The Republican Party and the president are not working for the interests of Americans — they are only protecting themselves.
