While Donald Trump’s entire administration is one big cringeworthy mess, one of the worst things about it is that tons of Trump’s own family members and corrupt buddies occupy top positions, despite being extremely unqualified for those positions.
One of these people is Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who just proved to everyone that he doesn’t belong in the White House while at a policy forum organized by CNN. When CNN’s Van Jones asked Kushner why he deserved such a critical position in the White House, Kushner pretty much fell apart and gave the most pathetic answer imaginable.
As if we all didn’t know that Kushner only got the job because he’s married to Ivanka, Jones asked him how he managed to get “the dopest job in the world” as the “secretary of everything.” Jones asked:
Why should we have confidence in you to do all this stuff?”
Kushner’s answer could not have been worse. Somehow in complete denial that America is now well aware of the president’s horrible judgment and lack of instincts, Kushner said:
The President trusts me.”
Why did he think this was the right thing to say? Who knows. Then, several lies followed. Kushner tried to save himself by trying to fluff up his resume, even though America barely hears of anything he’s accomplished. Kushner also ignored recent reports that Trump was unhappy with him over his handling of Saudi Arabia. Kushner said:
I think he knows that every task he’s given me … I’ve been able to do it effectively, I’ve been able to deliver results.”
But at least there was a tiny hint of honesty, as Kushner accidentally admitted that he lacked the experience to carry out the responsibilities of his job alone:
A lot of these tasks it’s an honor to work on, but I find that when I’m asked to take on something, the first thing I’ll do is I’ll reach out to people who have experience doing it.”
You can watch this train wreck of an interview below, and you’ll understand why Trump doesn’t let Kushner go on camera very often:
