He is such a sorry excuse for a president.

Today, Donald Trump gave a disgusting speech when kicking off Brett Kavanaugh’s swearing-in ceremony, as it was a speech that would make any rape apologist proud. In fact, at some points it was unclear whether Trump was talking about Kavanaugh or himself, as both men have been accused of sexual assault by numerous women.

Trump started the ceremony by claiming that the new Supreme Court justice was innocent and cleared of all the sexual assault allegations that had been made against him. In doing so, Trump went off about the “evil” Democrats and their “hoax” against the Supreme Court justice, which is a really disgusting way to minimize the experiences of sexual assault victims. Trump also stated that Kavanaugh was “innocent” and lamented the “terrible pain and suffering” that he was put through due to the allegations. To make this even more infuriating, Trump said the accusations were “based on lies and deception.” Trump said:

I would like to begin tonight’s proceeding differently than perhaps any other event of such magnitude. On behalf of our nation, I want to apologize to Brett and the entire Kavanaugh family for the terrible pain and suffering you have been forced to endure. Those who stepped forward to serve our country deserve a fair and dignified evaluation, not a campaign of political and personal destruction, based on lies and deception. What happened to the Kavanaugh family violates every notion of fairness, decency, and due process. Our country, a man or a woman, must always be presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. And with that, I must state that you, sir, under historic scrutiny were proven innocent.”

You can watch his disgusting speech below, which is an insult to all women who have been through sexual assault:
