For someone that loves Twitter as much as Donald Trump does, he sure doesn’t seem to care a bit about fact-checking a single thing he posts there.
Donald loves to go on retweeting sprees where he peddles the tweets of those that said something nice about him, no doubt hoping that it will somehow serve as some kind of proof that he really is as beloved as he wants us all to believe — nevermind the fact that he’s usually just retweeting the same dozen or so people over and over again.
Today, Trump decided to combine his love for retweeting nonsense with his love for lying through his teeth when he retweeted a meme with a fake quote from former President Ronald Reagan, supposedly from when the two met decades ago.
“Cute,” Donald captioned the retweet of the meme that featured the fake Reagan quote, “For the life of me, and I’ll never know how to explain it when I met that young man, I felt like I was the one shaking hands with the president.”

The former and current POTUSes did meet a few times back in the 1980s. however, several fact-checkers have disputed the authenticity of the quote, labeling it as false.
The photo itself is real and depicts a meeting between the two on November 3, 1987. However, chief administrative officer of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, Joanne Drake has made it very clear that then-president Reagan did not have any comments on the meeting.
“He did not ever say that about Donald Trump,” Drake stated in regard to the fake quote.

To make matters that much more bizarre and hilarious, the account that Donald retweeted has since been suspended.
