Trump Allies Make Startling Move After POTUS’ Recent Behavior, Presidency Breaking Down

The end of Donald Trump may be closer than we think it is.

Donald Trump’s presidency has never looked more hopeless. Not even halfway through his first (and hopefully last) term, the president has managed to unify the country against him better than most of us even thought he would. According to a new poll, 60 percent of Americans disapprove of how The Donald is running the country, and even more (63 percent) support the investigations Special Counsel Robert Mueller is conducting against the president.

As you can imagine, this news has made the president go off the deep end and behave more erratically than ever, and it’s taken several of the president’s allies by surprise. Now, they’re abandoning him.

Axios’ Mike Allen has reported that Trump has backed himself into a “tight, lonely corner” as his legal issues continue to worsen. Allen explained:

Loading...

Tensions with staff run high as ever. He has never been close to many of his top staffers, and this is more true than ever.”

While Trump has never been a super approachable boss or one to work well with his own administration members, we all know how heavily the president relied on his own inner circle and apparently, these people are moving far away from him. Axios notes that Trump’s own “allies are buckling,” as Trump’s former saviors such as former attorney Michael Cohen, National Enquirer publisher David Pecker and Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg have now chosen to go along with investigators and abandon him to save themselves.

Even those who have stood by the president until now are jumping ship, as they’re horrified by the way Trump is acting. New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman explained, “his aides say he is behaving as if he is cornered.” Axios said that those close to Trump have continued to urge the president not to test Mueller, but to no avail:

The corner feels small, and he keeps being told the one big move he fantasizes about making — staring down Mueller under the bright lights, one on one — could destroy it all.”

Those who once had faith in Trump have realized that the president is guilty, and his behavior gives it all away. Now that Trump is being abandoned by the few people he could actually count on, he’s going to unravel quickly.
