Donald Trump never ceases to amaze with how low he will go to keep America white and advance his racist agenda. Thanks to new information outlined in reports by the Washington Post and the Associated Press, one of Trump’s disgusting secret schemes to further hurt migrant families has just been exposed.
The Washington Post and the Associated Press reported that the White House had a secret plan to arrest thousands of undocumented migrant parents and children by performing raids across the United States. This idea was even considered by Department of Homeland Security officials, but was fortunately taken off the table because of limited resources.
The Trump administration’s goal for this operation was to discourage people from Mexico from coming into the United States, but we all know that Trump’s goal was probably far more sinister.
This proposal was actually challenged by a few Trump officials — but unfortunately, not for the right reasons. As this proposal was being considered, then-DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and then-Immigration and Customs Enforcement head Ron Vitiello challenged the idea due concerns about not having enough resources — not about ethical concerns. How fitting from this administration!
However, Nielsen and Vitiello were smart enough to realize that these raids would spark public outrage. As you may have guessed, these two officials were kicked out of the Trump administration just weeks later by Trump, partially due to their objections over this proposal.
Unfortunately, the plan to arrest families in 10 U.S. cities with massive immigrant communities is still under consideration. This is exactly what Americans need to keep in mind as we go into the 2020 election season — this entire administration is racist and in favor of enacting the most inhumane practices, even when they would eat up resources that are needed elsewhere. We need to vote these monsters out of the White House in the next election, or there is no telling what this country will come to.
