In the past two and a half years it’s become strikingly clear to American citizens as well as folks all around the world that Donald Trump is a piece of shit.

And given that he’s now literally the subject of a formal impeachment inquiry because he attempted to extort the Ukranian government into giving him dirt on his political opponent Joe Biden by withholding military aid and funding, there’s really not a doubt left to be hand in regard to that fact.

However, in the wake of such a massive scandal, it’s important to note that the stress if the presidency isn’t what made Donald into the pompous douche nozzle we all know and despise today — the dude’s always been that way.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff compared to Trump to a mob boss last week, stating that his phone call with Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelensky was comparable to a “classic mafia-like shakedown.”

And now, unsurprisingly so, a video has resurfaced of an interview Donald sat down for with David Letterman where he actually claims that he’s met Mafia members that were “very nice people.”

“Have you ever knowingly done business with what I like to call organized crime?” Letterman asked Donald on The Late Show, years before he would become president.

“I’ve really tried to stay away from them as much as possible,” Donald replied. “You know, growing up in New York and doing business in New York, I would say there might have been one of those characters along the way, but generally speaking I like to stay away from that group.”

“I have met on occasion a few of those people,” he continued. “They happen to be very nice people. You just don’t want to owe them money. Don’t owe them money.”

I guess they earned themselves a spot right beside the white supremacists, hmm?
