The most damaging information about President Donald Trump usually comes from within his own circle. It’s been a phenomenon that has haunted his entire presidency, as his former and present employees constantly leak and reveal damaging information about the president — which seems like something that should be avoidable for someone who has such good “instincts” about the people he chooses to work with.

Earlier today, another of Trump’s former employees called the president out in an interview with CNN’s Alisyn Camerota. Beck Dorey-Stein, Trump’s former White House stenographer, shed light on the president’s hatred for being on the record, how he constantly shuns protocol, and how he’s playing America.

Dorey-Stein revealed that Trump could have prevented the recent fiasco with British Prime Minister Theresa May if only he had let someone be present to record him so that his comments had context. However, because Trump hates being recorded, White House stenographers have been far less present during critical moments. She said:

We quickly learned he does not like microphones near his face, which is difficult because as a stenographer, we often had to do that. His White House and press office often didn’t include us in meetings with the press, so his first interview, there was no stenographer present, and even since then, even if a stenographer is present, he doesn’t often say check the transcript, because the transcript will reveal the truth.”

Dorey-Stein also spoke about how Trump had met with former Fox News Host Bill O’Reilly at the White House for an hour before going on O’Reilly’s show. She stated that Trump was “vulnerable” due to his lack of transcripts, which he could use to protect himself in his battles against the “fake news.” Dorey-Stein stated that now White House stenographers are only used when Trump needs to lie. She called him out:

I quit because I couldn’t be proud of where I worked any more. I felt like President Trump was lying to the American people, and also not even trying to tell the truth. He wasn’t even going the extra mile to have the stenographers in the room.”
