Donald Trump started the beginning of his week with a frenzied slew of tweets, signaling that the president has begun his unstructured executive time early and is going to make the rest of the day extremely embarrassing and shameful for everyone in this country.
It hadn’t even struck noon yet, when the president humiliated himself in front of millions, proving that he still knows nothing about his job or the country he lives in. Showing the world that there is no one double checking his tweets before he fires them off, Trump interrupted his Twitter rants about the border wall funding, the Democrats, and the government shutdown to send off a random tweet about American farmers. And in doing so, he made himself look like a fool. Trump tweeted:
Getting ready to address the Farm Convention today in Nashville, Tennessee. Love our farmers, love Tennessee – a great combination! See you in a little while.”
Now, that’s a pretty mild Trump tweet and would have been a nice pause in the chaos. However, no Trump tweet is safe – and it contained a glaring mistake: The convention is not in Nashville at all. It’s in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Trump quickly deleted this tweet, but fortunately, there’s a screen capture in existence:
To be fair, we have all made mistakes and sent a misguided tweet or Facebook post at least once in our lifetime. But this really emphasizes one of the greatest threats that Trump is to our country — he is someone who doesn’t care about getting the facts, even when it has to do with his own job! How is it that Trump could get a huge detail for a speech he is going to be giving TODAY wrong? And if he wasn’t sure, he has access to everyone in the White House at his fingertips. His laziness, incompetence, and all around cluelessness goes far beyond his tweets. While this was a minor incident, it proves that Trump refuses to shape up and learn from his mistakes.
