Donald’s Trump’s birthday is today, and clearly, he wants nothing more than to be praised and pampered all day long. Much like any other day, really. But considering he’s spent the last few weeks peddling a “birthday card” around social media platforms begging for signatures and donations to his campaign, it’s safe to say he really wants today to be a little extra special.
That’s why Twitter is that much more hilarious today, considering that, instead of finding well-meaning birthday wishes across the social media platform, Trump is currently being bombarded with the Twitter trending hashtag “John McCain Day.”
The brilliant trolling was kicked off by an executive producer of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” who called upon his followers to celebrate Trump’s birthday by making the hashtag #JohnMcCainDay go viral.
“Let’s celebrate @realDonaldTrump’s birthday today by having #JohnMcCainDay trend,” Andy Lassner’s tweet read. “I’m sure this would mean a lot to a patriot like Donald Trump. #JohnMcCainDay”

In the wee hours of this morning, the hashtag honoring the late Senator and war hero, who Trump despises even in death, spread like wildfire — with more than 51,000 tweets employing the phrase.
The responses to Lassner’s tweet was a little varied. Some chastised the producer for being childish, but the majority of the Twitter universe reveled in his brilliant troll.
In fact, most of the responses were absolutely delicious:

There is even a petition currently on Change.org calling for Trump’s birthday, June 14th, to be recognized as John McCain Day, and already has over 500 signatures.
What can we say? Happy birthday, Mr. President!
