Trump Accidentally Exposes His Own Lies In Bizarre Comments About Acting AG Matt Whitaker

What a LIAR!

At this point in Donald Trump’s presidency, it seems pathetic that he even tries to make himself look less awful — no one takes him seriously anymore and no one believes anything that comes out of his mouth. Thanks to his long history of backpedaling, his severe allergy to anything that resembles a fact, and his inability to be transparent, Trump has earned the reputation of being a pathological liar — and he just exposed himself (again).

Earlier today, Trump tried to say that he didn’t know his acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, who is taking the place of Jeff Sessions. Clearly, Trump is hoping that no one will remember an interview he gave just last month on Fox & Friends, where he said he did, in fact, know Whitaker.

When Trump was asked by reporters about Whitaker and his history of being against the Mueller probe earlier today, Trump tried to act “innocent.” The president said:

I don’t know Matt Whitaker. Matt Whitaker worked for Jeff Sessions, and he was always extremely highly thought of, and he still is. But I didn’t know Matt Whitaker. He worked for Attorney General Sessions.”

This is very different from the comments Trump made to Fox News on October 11, as Trump spoke about Whitaker like they were old friends. He said:

I can tell you Matt Whitaker is a great guy. I know Matt Whitaker.”

Clearly, Trump thinks all Americans are just as gullible as his brainless fanbase and believes that no one will hold him accountable. Trump’s lies are pathetic at this point in his disastrous presidency, but that doesn’t stop the president from spewing them out on a constant basis. You can watch both moments — in which Trump’s own former statements have served as a brutal fact check — below:
