The GOP knows it's in trouble — this proves it.

The midterms are looking so incredibly bad for the Republican Party that even Donald Trump is secretly starting to come to terms with it (although he’s certainly not taking any responsibility for it). While the president brags about how successful his presidency is or endorses GOP candidates and boasts about how they’re “winning,” the Republican Party is freaking out behind closed doors because they know they’re in great danger of losing the majority.

The Republican Party should have seen this coming, though. While Trump did lose the popular vote by quite a bit, he did manage to secure a loyal fanbase with gullible, racist Americans — which seemed to temporarily boost the Republican Party. However, it didn’t take long for many of these Trump voters to figure out that they’d been very, VERY wrong about Trump.

Let’s revisit a valuable moment from the past that the GOP should have taken to heart if they wanted to survive the midterms. Last year, several Trump voters gathered on CNN to talk about their president and it ended in an absolute sh*tshow.  One man, named Scott McCommons, let loose and vented every single issue he had with Trump. McCommons stunned everyone as he swore that he never would have voted for Trump if he’d know then what he knows now. McCommons even went as far as to call Trump’s first 100 days a “disaster.” He said:

He’s got enough time to get on Twitter, and rant and rave, and on top of that lie on Twitter. I voted for the man to make America great again, and I’m willing to give him a chance, but he’s not doing what I thought.”

McCommons also slammed Trump’s efforts to repeal Obamacare and called the man he voted for “unpresidential.”

I expected him to work a little harder [on health care]. Be a little more reasonable instead of threatening people. That’s unpresidential. I voted to send him to Washington strictly because I thought he would make change, nobody would push him around. He’s used his power against people, I think that’s wrong — it’s been a disaster, I think, in the first 100 days.”

That was over a year ago, and Trump’s performance has only gotten worse. The GOP is terrified of the midterm elections, because many Republican voters are now abandoning the GOP solely because of Trump. You can watch the shocking footage below:
