Republican Senator Hides In Men’s Bathroom After He’s Confronted By Assault Survivors

What a trembling coward.

Republican Senator David Perdue of Georgia is proving to be just as big a coward when it comes to confrontations by survivors of sexual assault as his GOP colleagues. Perdue is a member of the unofficial — but very real — Good Old Boys Club in the Republican Party, despite only serving in the Senate for his first term right now. His cousin, Sonny Perdue, was the Governor of Georgia prior to becoming Donald Trump’s Secretary of Agriculture.

Neither man has been anything but a pure conservative ideologue.

Senator Perdue opposes women’s rights, does not believe in climate change, supports restricting even legal immigration from south of the border, and was famously the one who prayed during a conference of the Faith and Freedom Coalition for President Obama to die young.

So what can you expect from David Perdue when it comes to being confronted in Ronald Reagan National Airport by emissaries of the Center for Popular Democracy, who were accompanied by an elected state Representative from Arizona — all of whom were survivors of sexual assault?

Not much. In fact, he was so repulsed by their effort to speak to him that he physically recoiled, telling them not to touch him, and eventually hiding in the men’s restroom to get away from them.

Unfortunately for Senator Perdue, the women were not about to let him off the hook. As he was holed up in the bathroom like a coward, Jennifer Epps-Addison asked him through the door,

Senator, how can you not talk to women who have been assaulted? How can you ignore our pleas? You have to exit at some point.”

When they first approached Perdue, their aim was to ascertain whether or not he intended to vote for Brett Kavanaugh to sit on the Supreme Court after six credible allegations of sexual assault from his past have surfaced.

I guess he answered that as well as an old white male might — through an airport bathroom door. Watch the exchange here:
