This is why we love Obama!

While Donald Trump has done everything in his power to make things unpleasant and stressful before the holidays, former President Barack Obama continues to pick up the slack for the undeserving POTUS and keeps modeling what a president should be doing.

Earlier today, Obama put on a Santa Claus hat and arrived at Children’s National Health System in Washington with loads of presents for the hospital’s pediatric patients. The kids, as you can imagine, couldn’t believe their eyes. In a video shared by the hospital, Obama told the crowd:

We had a chance to talk to some of the wonderful kids and their families. At a time that is obviously tough for folks, and the dad of two girls, I can only imagine in that situation you know to have nurses, staff and doctors and people who are caring for them, and looking after them, and listening to them and just there for them and holding their hands.

In a touching, sensitive statement that would have never come from Trump, Obama said:

That’s the most important thing there is. What a great reminder of what the holiday spirit is supposed to be all about.”

Obama visited the children for an hour and a half, meeting with the young patients and making art projects with them. He also handed out gifts which included Matchbox cars, puzzles and Starburst-scented nail polish. And for the children that he didn’t get a chance to spend time with, the former POTUS left a special video.

You can watch the footage in the video below, courtesy of ABC:

Moments like these are exactly why we miss Obama so much, and become so uncomfortably aware that we don’t have a respectable Commander in Chief in the White House anymore. Trump is far too selfish to do anything like this, so it’s amazing that Obama is still being a great role model to America’s youth.
