It’s pretty safe to assume that Donald Trump is now building his entire 2020 reelection campaign on appealing to the biggest majority of his base — blatant racists, right-wing nuts, and white nationalist — with his ongoing attack against four different Congresswomen of color whom he attacked in a series of tweets over the weekend, telling them to “go back where they came from.”
Since this attack that can only be described as an act of clear and concise racism, Trump has done nothing but double down on his racist rhetoric — first during his recent “Made in America” speech, then a press gaggle outside the White House, ultimately coming toa nasty head during his 2020 reelection rally in Greenville, North Carolina where he spurred his MAGA supporters into chants of “send her back” in reference to one of his targets, Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Trump’s recent deplorable behavior has certainly sparked outrage in the masses, with even a handful of staunch Republicans admitting that even they can’t stand behind this atrocity — many of them taking to their Twitter accounts, the only thing that Donald Trump will pay attention to, to express their disdain.
But today, Twitter fell into sobs of nostalgia and homesickness when none other than former First Lady Michelle Obama sent out her heartfelt opinions on the dire situation our country is currently experiencing:
“What truly makes our country great is its diversity. I’ve seen that beauty in so many ways over the years. Whether we are born here or seek refuge here, there’s a place for us all. We must remember it’s not my America or your America. It’s our America,” Michelle’s tweet beautifully read. Reminding us all for a moment what it was like to have a person of dignity and respect in our nation’s White House, and leaving us all quite distraught at what we have now:
