This is just insanity.

Earlier today, Trump White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway had a bizarre, tense interaction with reporters in the driveway to the West Wing.

During a gaggle with reporters, Conway stopped to harass Playboy White House correspondent and CNN analyst Brian Karem, when Karem was only trying to question her about Trump and border security. Conway ranted:

I see I’m no longer your favorite person in the White House, which you said for such a long time. That’ll keep you on your cable network.”

Karem tried to laugh this very uncomfortable moment off and said, “You know you are.”

Conway fired back, “Then you shouldn’t lie on Twitter.” And Karem’s response was priceless. He said:

You all shouldn’t lie on Twitter.”

Accusing the press of lying on Twitter was an extremely bizarre statement for Conway to make, considering that lying is all that Trump and his administration do. Conway was obviously still heated from an incident that happened last week when she lashed out at CNN reporter Jim Acosta and called him a “smart ass” and said, “most of the people here don’t like you.” You can watch Conway’s tense exchange with Karem below:

Karem further took the discussion to Twitter, defending his colleague Acosta and reiterating the very known fact that “Very few people like [Kellyanne Conway].” He also spoke for all of the free press when he said, “We are not there to be liked. We are there to do a job.”

While we expect unpresidential behavior from Trump at this point in his presidency, it’s a shame that this behavior has rubbed off on his administration members. All staff that has had access to the press such as Conway, Sean Spicer, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders have had terrible relationships with reporters. And just judging from this interview, that’s not going to change anytime soon.
