If you thought you were going to get a break from the onslaught of information and revelations that Omarosa has in store for America both in and outside of her book, you’re just not watching enough Sunday morning news.

In the extended interview that the former White House aide did with Chuck Todd this morning, it was clear that she was resigned to finally telling her whole story, and she made a few stunning admissions, not least of which were the details of the White House’s attempt to pay her $15,000 for her silence after she left the team.

But in a very personal moment, Omarosa confessed to Chuck that she felt guilty about one thing, and it’s maybe the most important part of the narrative that her story is unwinding. Donald Trump, she says, is both “mentally declined” and, now that she personally has heard the tapes containing the President using the N-word, a confirmed racist — and she feels complicit in having allowed the illusion that he was neither to continue.

What I know now, I didn’t have the benefit of in 2003 or 2004 or 2010. And so yes, it is hindsight. But I will say this to you: I was complicit with this White House deceiving this nation. They continue to deceive this nation by how mentally declined he is. How difficult it is for him to process complex information. How he is not engaged in some of the most important decisions that impacts our country. I was complicit, and for that I regret.”

The intimate admission of her own guilt makes Omarosa seem at least a little less like an opportunist, as her detractors are now portraying her, and more like someone who actually feels terrible for the role that she played in helping Donald Trump and his administration fool people of color in America into thinking he cared about them.
